Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

The Academy of Cognitive Therapy
The Academy of Cognitive Therapy aims to educate the public about CBT and connect individuals with therapists certified in CBT. ACT awards certification to CBT professionals (including psychologists, medical doctors, and social workers) who, on objective evaluation, are found to have expertise in CBT treatment. ACT also works to promote continuing education and research in cognitive therapy.

Mind Over Mood
This website is designed to accompany the Mind Over Mood CBT treatment manual, written by Drs. Dennis Greenberger and Christine Padesky. The website contains a wide variety of information about CBT, including updates on recent research findings, book recommendations, and explanations about the CBT model and how moods, thoughts, and actions are related.

NIMH is the U.S. government organization responsible for the execution of basic and clinical research of mental health problems. This site provides information about diagnoses as well as updates on the latest research being conducted.

The APA is the scientific and professional organization for psychology in the United States. The APA is the world’s largest association of psychologists.

Medline Plus provides comprehensive information about psychiatric medications and their side effects.

Freedom from Fear
Freedom From Fear was founded by a woman with a history of anxiety and depressive illness. It is an advocacy organization aimed at providing information and support to individuals affected by anxiety and depressive disorders. The site includes information about different diagnoses and relevant treatments, and public blogs to which all readers can post.

Rutgers Anxiety Disorders Clinic
At the Rutgers ADC, psychologists, social workers, and graduate students provide evidence-based treatment for individuals with a wide range of difficulties. The Clinic specializes in the treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. The ADC also serves as a teaching and training institute for graduate students.
